Alan Toepfer has traveled extensively for business and pleasure, and has photographed in the U. S., Europe, Russia, South America, Asia, and Antarctica. Landscape, wildlife, travel, and hot air balloons are his main subjects. His balloon and wildlife images have won a number of awards, including 1st place in the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Photo Contest in 1988, and 1st place in the International Wildlife Film Festival photo contest in 1992. It is the intention of this web site to share with others images he has collected over the past 45 years.

Recent images were obtained using Nikon D7000, D200 and D90 digital cameras. Older images were shot using Kodak and Fuji film with Nikon F5 and N90s film cameras. Film images were scanned from slides and negatives on an Epson Perfection 3200 Photo scanner at 3200 dpi and a bit depth of 16. All digital files have been processed with Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Camera Raw to enhance color and sharpness where needed.
